Start-up businesses are the lifeblood of our vibrant business community.

They keep our economy dynamic and successful, improving its diversity, and stimulating competition with new ideas, new jobs and new skills for the future. This award celebrates new businesses across a broad spectrum of products and services, operating across all market sectors. The category is open to businesses which have been trading for less than 18 months.

THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Proactive leadership and a capable team
• A robust business model, with evidence of business sustainability
• Strong financial performance results, growth forecast and good governance
• Innovation and market differentiation, together with a great story about the company’s beginnings
• A commitment to business excellence, best practice and continual improvement.
