Enter 2019 Awards – ‘they’re great for business’

Winning Croydon Business Excellence Awards last year has had major ongoing benefits for two entrepreneurs in the borough.

Now both are calling on Croydon’s business community to take advantage of the amazing opportunities that the awards offer by entering the 2019 programme.

The borough’s biggest and most prestigious business awards, delivered in association with Willmott Dixon, are currently inviting entries in 12 categories. Free and easy to apply online, the awards have been designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of all types and sizes of enterprise.

Dean Slade, Director of Bluebird Care Croydon (pictured above), the 2018 Business of the Year and Best Business for Customer Service, and Laurence Grant, the 2018 Inspirational Young Person of the Year, say they are still reaping the rewards of their impressive wins.

Dean commented: “The Awards really helped put Bluebird Care Croydon on the map as a quality company offering a great service. You cannot get any better than being named the Best Business in Croydon. We would encourage any business to enter the awards as it’s a great platform to shout about your achievements and innovations.”

Bluebird Care Croydon’s staff also got a real morale boost from the win – and Dean found it helped with staff recruitment and customer confidence too: “Our staff are proud to be part of an award winning company, and it has helped raise our profile in Croydon and given prospective customers confidence in our service.”

This year Bluebird Care Croydon have decided to support the awards by sponsoring the Commitment to the Community Award. Urging Croydon’s businesses to apply, Dean said: “There are a lot of excellent businesses in Croydon so I’d say, Enter Now!”

Winning the Young Inspirational Person of the Year Award last year meant a great deal to entrepreneur Laurence Grant (pictured above receiving his award from Croydon Cllr Manju Shahul-Hameed). It also gave him the impetus to found his new company. He is already drafting his application for the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year category: “The award played a major role in encouraging me to pursue my own goals with my new company DirectorMatch. Without the recognition and support of the Croydon business community, I would not be where I am today.”

The closing date for awards entries is Friday, 21st June at 5pm. You can apply online via a link on the Home page of this website.

The winners – including the overall Business of the Year – will be announced exclusively at a glittering Gala Dinner and Charity Ball hosted by a celebrity presenter in October.
