Climate change is the major challenge we face post-Covid. The borough’s businesses are already embracing the opportunities presented by a sustainable recovery from the pandemic to build back better, and this Award seeks to showcase their efforts.
Judges will be looking for businesses/organisations that have:
- A business vision for recovery/growth which includes a wide-ranging and innovative eco-friend approach
- Involved the community in their vision
- Used COVID-19 business recovery funding to develop their business more sustainably
- Motivated their staff to try sustainable practices, from electric cars and cycling, to in-house resource saving
- Used technology to further their ‘green’ ambitions
- Created new jobs with a sustainability element
