03 Jun TV’s Dan Lobb to host 2019 Awards Ceremony
Top TV presenter Dan Lobb will host the glittering highlight event of Croydon’s business year – the Croydon Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner & Charity Ball.
The prestigious awards programme, run in association with Willmott Dixon, is currently open for entries from businesses across the borough, with applications set to close on 21st June 2019 at 5pm.
There are 14, free and easy-to enter categories including: the new Apprentice Employer of the Year award; the Night Time Economy award for dining, leisure and entertainment businesses; the Enterprising Young Person of the Year award for ambitious 18 to 25 year olds; and the Best Business for Digital, Data and Technology. The winners of the prestigious awards programme, which celebrates the successes and achievements of the borough’s booming business community, will be exclusively announced at the black-tie Gala Dinner and Charity Ball, hosted by hugely popular and versatile presenter Dan Lobb (pictured above), on Thursday, 3rd October 2019.
Dan said: “I’m really looking forward to being part of the 2019 Croydon Business Excellence Awards. I lived in South London for over 20 years and my TV career actually started in Croydon, so I feel an affinity with the town and borough.”
Before embarking on a successful television career, Dan was a leading professional tennis player. He later joined Sky Sport as a presenter, before moving to GMTV where he established himself as the regular stand-in anchor on the Daybreak sofa. Dan has also appeared as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and worked on Loose Women, The Alan Titchmarsh Show and Cowboy Builders.
Speaking about the business awards, Dan said: “I know it’s always a fun evening, and a great event that is growing all the time, not least because of the fantastic regeneration project Croydon is benefitting from.”
