TV’s Michael Underwood to host Gala Awards night

Popular TV presenter Michael Underwood will host the Croydon Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner and Charity Ball on Thursday, 4th October.

The glittering, black-tie evening at The Grand Sapphire Hotel and Banqueting Hall is the climax of the 2018 awards programme, held in association with Willmott Dixon.

Over 450 people will attend the event, presided over by Michael, pictured here, to find out who has won this year’s 12 business category awards, as well as the premier prize, Croydon’s Business of the Year title.

Guests will enjoy a sparkling reception, a three-course dinner with wine and dancing to live music by City Limits. As host, Michael will compere a charity auction and raffle in aid of Croydon Commitment and the Croydon branch of Cancer Research UK.

The event is being held from 6pm to 1am, on Thursday, 4th October 2018 at The Grand Sapphire Hotel and Banqueting Halls, 45 Imperial Way, Croydon CR0 4RR

*Michael Underwood is a former CBBC presenter and backstage host on the X Factor finals, as well as the British Soap Awards and The Zone for ITV. Originally a drama teacher, Michael famously won his role on CBBC after appearing on Gaby Roslin’s TV show, Whatever You Want. He went on to front hugely popular children’s, education, game and entertainment shows.
He has also been a showbiz reporter for GMTV and presented on Surprise Surprise and Good Morning Britain, and competed in Dancing on Ice and has guest hosted on The Wright Stuff.
